Statement from CCC Regarding the Mayor’s Affordable Housing PlanReleased May 5, 2014For Immediate Release Contact: Elysia Murphy, (212) 673-1800 x18, emurphy@cccnewyork.org “We would like to commend Mayor de Blasio on his affordable housing plan. This plan will help half a million people, ranging from extremely low income to middle income, by building and persevering quality housing, protecting tenants’ rights, and engaging the community in future development plans. We are thrilled larger units for families and children are being addressed so families can stay in New York City and are not forced out. The homeless crisis is also addressed by providing funding to create permanent housing for the homeless, as well as a plan to create more supportive housing. This plan will change New York City for the better and we look forward to working with the administration as more details of the affordable housing plan emerge,” said Jennifer March, Executive Director at Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York.
