Statement from CCC Executive Director Jennifer March on City FY’17 Budget Agreement

New York, NY – Today the City Council and the Mayor reached an agreement on the upcoming City budget for Fiscal Year 2017 which includes additional investments that will make New York City a better place to be a child. We are grateful to the City Council for including services for children, youth and families at the top of their budget priorities. The budget agreement restores summer camp for 26,000 middle school students, expands summer youth employment programs to 60,000 children, expands after-school programs for 9,000  additional elementary school children, and increases funding for emergency food programs. Importantly, the $100 million in new resources for youth services is historic and an investment in our City’s future.
