CCC Statement: Regarding Borough President Stringer’s Early Head Start Proposal

We are delighted that our City’s leaders continue to take an active role in identifying new ways to bring much needed services to our youngest and most vulnerable children. We know that the earliest years of childhood development are critical and that access to high-quality early childhood education puts children on a path to successful growth and learning. Despite this fact, there are simply not enough services available to meet the needs of New York City’s low-income families caring for infants and toddlers, and so we applaud Borough President Stringer’s plans to bring about more of the high-quality and family-centered support that Early Head Start provides.
