CCC Press Release: Citizens’ Committee for Children Releases Snapshot of Children and Families in New York CityReleased October 16, 2012In anticipation of tonight’s Presidential town-hall format debate on Long Island, Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York (CCC) released a visual snapshot of children and families in New York City illustrating why issues of poverty and children are a critical part of the discussion. “CCC’s Snapshot of NYC Children and Families in 2011 provides a clear picture of the challenges we face in supporting New York City’s low-income families,” said CCC Executive Director Jennifer March-Joly . “We have an important opportunity today to make sure that finding solutions to these challenges is a top priority for our country’s leaders. We must hear from our Presidential candidates about their plans to combat poverty faced by children and families across the country.” The snapshot provides data gathered from the 2011 American Community Survey by the United States Census Bureau, including:
