The middle school years, from grades 6 – 8, are an important stage in a child’s social and educational development and lay the foundation for a student’s long-term academic success. This CCC Policy Briefing discussed ways educators are working to identify struggling middle school students and support them in preparing for a successful transition to high school and beyond graduation.

How the New York City Department of Education is seeking to keep middle school students on track
The strategies and tools FHI 360 provides NYC middles schools, including early warning systems that identify middle schoolers starting to fall off track.
How one Bronx middle school has implemented a system to identify struggling middle school students and then to intervene early.
