Testimony To New York State Fiscal Year 20/21 Joint Legislative Budget Health Hearing

Alice Bufkin, CCC’s Director of Policy for Child and Adolescent Health, submitted testimony on January 29th to the New York State Fiscal Year 2020/2021 Joint Legislative Budget Health Hearing regarding the impact of the SFY ’21 Executive Budget on the health of children and families — particularly from the Medicaid cost shifts to New York City.
Alice testified that we cannot achieve a healthy future for our state if we continue to cut funding from preventive services for the youngest New Yorkers and their families, and urged the Governor and the Legislature to invest in healthcare to ensure long-term health benefits and cost savings.
