CCC’S Summary of New York State Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Executive Budget Proposals

Governor Cuomo’s $141.6 billion Executive Budget for State Fiscal Year 2015-2016 proposes to limit spending growth to 2% while also spending the $5.4 billion in one-year money the State received from settlements with financial institutions on economic development and infrastructure.

The Executive Budget includes numerous proposals that will benefit children and families including increasing the minimum wage, raising the age of criminal responsibility so that 16 and 17 year olds are not treated as adults in the justice system, and increasing resources for affordable housing, supportive housing and funding to address homelessness.
