CCC’s Summary of Actions Taken by the City Council to Restore Services for Children: NYC Adopted Budget FY 2012

The City Council and the Mayor negotiated an Adopted Budget for City Fiscal Year 2012 that restored many of the proposed cuts to children’s services.

These restorations include over $42 million for child care (and $29 million baselined by the Administration), $3.6 million for 105 child protective staff, $1.25 million for mental health services for children under 5, $7.17 million for runaway and homeless youth services, $1.9 million for child welfare staff and $5 million for child health clinics, among other restorations.
