CCC Testimony: New York City Council General Welfare Committee Hearing on Fiscal Year 2013 Preliminary Budget Proposals

CCC testified about the impact the Fiscal Year 2013 Preliminary Budget would have on children and families served by the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), Human Resources Administration (HRA), and Department of Homeless Services (DHS) at the March 29, 2012 City Council General Welfare Committee Hearing on the Fiscal Year 2013 Preliminary Budget.

The proposed cuts to these agencies include cutting child welfare staff, the Teen Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (Teen RAPP) and emergency food programs. Furthermore, the Preliminary Budget would result in the elimination of child care and after-school programs for 47,000 children.
