CCC Testimony: New York City Council Finance, General Welfare, Women’s Issues And Juvenile Justice Committees Regarding The Fiscal Year 2018 Preliminary Budget

CCC submitted testimony for the New York City Council Committees on Finance, General Welfare, Women’s Issues and Juvenile Justice hearing on March 27, 2017 regarding the Fiscal Year 2018 Preliminary Budget for the Human Resources Administration (HRA), Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and Administration for Children’s Services (ACS).

CCC urged the administration to make additional investments in these agencies, which serve the most vulnerable New Yorkers, in the upcoming Executive Budget.  Some of CCC’s recommendations included increasing funding for preventive service providers and training, child protective staff, emergency food programs, and supports for homeless families, particularly those in commercial hotels.
