December 5, 2012 Many Thanks to the 2012 Community Leadership Course Graduates!CCC’s 65th Community Leadership Course is in the books! Seventeen participants completed the ten session class on November 14th, which culminated in a class visit with the Brownsville Partnership and then went on site visits within the community to Brownsville Youth Court, SCO Early Head Start Program and the Brownsville Recreation Center. Over the course of two and a half months, the class visited 28 programs that provide a variety of services to NYC’s children and families all over the five boroughs, heard from expert speakers, and received in-depth analysis from CCC’s policy staff on each of the children’s issues we work on. The CLC is a team effort, made possible thanks to CCC staff and volunteers, as well as many of our colleagues in the field. View a complete list of site visits and guest speakers for the 2012 course. We welcome the 2012 graduates to CCC’s community of volunteers advocating to make this City a better place for children to live, learn and grow. For those of you that graduated, we hope that you will help us continue to expand upon our network of children’s advocates in NYC by sharing our data, research and action alerts with your friends and colleagues. And we know that, when asked, you will help us to speak out on behalf of our City’s children, whether it be through our annual advocacy trip to Albany, reaching out to elected officials, or joining us for rallies and press conferences. We also hope you and your friends and colleagues will be joining us for policy briefings and other events, frequenting our blog, and following us on Facebook and Twitter. From all of us at CCC, we thank each and every one of our CLC graduates for being active participants during the course and for bringing the valuable insights from your diverse professional and personal experiences to the table. We look forward to having you join us in ensuring that every child is healthy, housed, educated and safe. |
