Inspiring stories from extraordinary advocates making change for children

Where can you hear inspiring stories from extraordinary advocates making change for children in New York City, around the country, and around the globe? At CCC’s Celebration Breakfast on October 30th featuring a keynote address by Ronan Farrow, award presentations to Agnes Gund, Abigail Disney, Child Welfare Organizing Project and hundreds of dedicated advocates and concerned New Yorkers gathered together to celebrate the goal that unites us – a better New York for our city’s children.

Our 2013 Breakfast promises to be a very special morning. We invite you to be a part of that special morning and a part of our collective story.  Join us to hear:

• How Ronan Farrow, writer, human rights lawyer, diplomat and expert on youth activism can inspire us to be better advocates in New York City and around the world.

• How Agnes Gund can inspire us to enrich the lives of children and New Yorkers by encouraging and sharing creativity– creativity that sparks change– every single day.

• How Abigail Disney, as an activist, filmmaker and philanthropist, can inspire us to live an even more active, generous and engaged life in service to those in greatest need.

• How the Child Welfare Organizing Project can show what is possible when families directly impacted by the child welfare system work together to support and learn from each other, and organize for system change.

We say it all the time, but our annual Celebration Breakfast event really puts it into focus:  The work of child advocacy is the work of all of us making our world a better place– and that starts with making the world a better place for children. It takes dedicated people to make government policy responsive to the needs of children. And it takes stories of hope and change to inspire us to do more. In that spirit, we gather every year to celebrate child advocacy and exceptional advocates, and be energized for the work ahead.
